Camp FAQs & Policies

JUNIPER HILL RANCH CAMP CANCELLATION POLICY:

We will refund your camp fee, minus $60, if you cancel more than two weeks in advance AND we can fill your camp spot. If we cannot fill your spot, we cannot refund you. There are no refunds within the 14 days before your first day of camp would start.

If a family registers a child that doesn’t fall within the ages of the program, families will receive a full refund, minus a $20 credit card administrative fee.

In this COVID-19 era, we have amended our cancellation policy in the following way. If Juniper Hill Ranch Camp needs to cancel a session prior to its start, families will receive a full refund, minus a $20 credit card administrative fee. This includes any instances under which a COVID 19-related change in local, state, or federal regulations makes it impossible for us to offer camp. If Juniper Hill Ranch Camp has to cancel a portion of a camp that is already in session due to a camper’s suspected or diagnosed COVID-19 illness, families will receive a refund for the day(s) missed.

CAMPER BEHAVIOR REQUIREMENTS:

We want everyone to have a fun and empowering week of camp with us. To make sure everyone is on the same page, please review these guidelines with your child before camp. Campers will:

  • Always wear closed-toe shoes.

  • Be respectful to other campers, our incredible counselors, our animals and the beautiful landscape in which we will be learning.

  • Make wise decisions and not put themselves or other campers in danger.

  • Use all camp supplies and tools as instructed.

  • Be able to navigate personal hygiene and uneven ground, dirt and pavement on their own.

  • Be mindful of their surroundings (including the animals and people in their orbit). This includes paying attention to animals’ responses to them and adjusting behavior accordingly.

  • Horseback riding is NOT a part of this camp. We do have horses on the property that are boarded here. We do not own them, so campers and staff are not allowed to interact with them.

WHAT TO BRING TO JUNIPER HILL RANCH:

Campers should put sunscreen on in the morning and bring sunscreen, a sun hat and closed-toe shoes, plus lunch, a water bottle and snack. Closed-toe shoes are a must on the ranch. No flip-flops or sandals are allowed.

JUNIPER HILL RANCH FACILITIES:

Juniper Hill Ranch Camp is held in the outdoors on our ranch. When we need shade or shelter from rain, we will head into our barn. Smoking is prohibited on the property. Visitor dogs are prohibited on the property.

ALLERGIES AND MEDICAL PROTOCOLS:

We are licensed by the state of Colorado to hold our summer camps, and we have taken all required coursework mandated by the state. We follow all state medical and operations procedures. A copy of our State of Colorado Child Care license and inspection reviews are available upon request. All counselors hold current First-Aid and CPR certifications, and everyone is trained in our medical and emergency protocols. All staff are current in their state-required medical, safety and child abuse prevention courses.

We have a copy of our emergency protocols posted in the barn. Every counselor also has a copy of these protocols on their clipboards. We require that we are notified in advance if any camper has allergies or medical conditions. Our pre-camp forms give parents the opportunity to give us details on each child’s allergies. Because we are an outdoor-based ranch camp, children need to be able to walk independently on uneven ground, dirt and pavement.
